Robert J. McCord, RPA-C
Certified Physician Assistant

Mr. Rob McCord has dedicated his entire career to surgical specialties. Having graduated from Touro College Physician Assistant Program in 1982, he has worked almost exclusively in surgery. Upon graduation, Rob was employed at St. Francis Hospital in the Department of General Surgery, assisting in surgery and providing peri-operative to hospital patients. He remained at St. Francis for 10 years before accepting a position in an orthopedic office in Queens where he was responsible for patient evaluations, diagnostics and devising treatment plans as well as follow-up evaluations. Subsequently relocating to a larger general orthopedic practice in Nassau County, he began assisting in orthopedic surgery as well as patient care. Rob joined Orthopedic Spine Care of LI in March of 2000 and now specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with neck and back disorders.

Mr. McCord provides patient care in addition to surgical assisting. He is the coordinator of two clinical trials currently being studied by the practice. Rob was invited to speak at the investigator’s meeting at NASS, the annual spine meeting, last October about his duties as a coordinator. He also lectures in the orthopedic unit for Stony Brook University PA Program and is a lecturer at the Annual PA Board Review sponsored by Stony Brook University. Rob has also had the opportunity to present at the annual NYSSPA conference.

Mr. McCord is currently a member of the America Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), New York State Society of Physician Assistants (NYSSPA), North American Spine Society (NASS) and Physician Assistants in Orthopedic Surgery (PAOS).
